2008 Graduation Party

Yesterday afternoon Mary and I hosted the High School Graduation Party for both our sons at the Luna Pier Community Center. Her son John and my son Aaron are both graduating from Mason Schools here in southeast Michigan this afternoon. While I didn’t shoot pics of the food, we kept it simple, having what the boys wanted: 8 lbs fresh ground beef with 1 gal. + 1 qt. Manwich on hamburger buns, sweet & sour meatballs, American potato salad, macaroni salad, broccoli/cauliflower salad, a huge bowl of Bugles, and 20 2 liters of pop. Except for the broccoli/cauliflower salad (which my sister made), everything was from a restaurant supply shop (GFS Marketplace for those who have one nearby). The full sheet cake, white on one end, chocolate on the other, with whipped icing, was a custom cake from Kroger.

We made sure to invite anyone the boys wanted to be there. Here, Aaron (BlogsMonroe.com’s Teen Tech) poses with his mom Marnella.

And of course, as with any of our family functions anymore, Knoah Sweat, the tiny subject of the blog What Is Normal? and already a member of Little People of America, showed up with the rest of his family. Here’s Knoah with his dad Will:

Over on Knoah’s blog his mom Tonya talked about how he started taking steps on her birthday. While we didn’t get any video of it, we can vouch for the fact that he took steps yesterday, too!

  1. We had a GREAT time! It is ALWAYS great to spend time with the family! Looking forward to the next time!!

Oh and we took them down to the beach…we had to drag Hannah away, so if you see claw marks and a big gapping hole, that was Hannah. We’ll replace the sand when we come back! 😉
