Eat This Blog: Bolles Harbor Café Lumberjack Skillet Breakfast Special

When this dish arrived in front of me this morning, it was covered completely with egg. This photo was after I cut some of the white away to expose the goodies inside. And talk about goodies! This morning’s Lumberjack Skillet special at the Bolles Harbor Café was an exceptional breakfast dish, one of the finest I’ve ever had. In this soup bowl are tender and tasty pieces of grilled prime rib, sautéed hunks of redskin potatoes with the skin intact, flavorful and tender pieces of bacon, chunks of green pepper and onion, and a touch of melted cheese, all seasoned beautifully and served piping hot. The eggs are to order with mine being over easy, and I had the homemade biscuit instead of toast. I’ve had breakfasts at quite a few expensive restaurants and from some wonderful family cooks as well, but I don’t ever remember eating anything like this. This is the kind of breakfast meal I’ll recall years down the road. It was simply that good.
