Happy Birthday Ryan!!

There is something I’ve done in my life that not many dad’s can say that they’ve done. It’s a very cool thing, and the person on the other end of what I’ve done is watching me type this at this very moment.

I have actually been the one to catch one of my kids as they were born. It was twelve years ago today. Ryan knew that.

The University of Michigan Medical Center claimed I was the first dad to ever ask to catch one of my kids. I really can’t believe that was actually true, but I’d like to believe it. Such a fact would make Ryan’s birthday and our relationship even more special than it already is.

Ryan likes to read, not write. And even though he’s as skinny as a railroad tie, he likes to eat, too. And play computer games. And harrass the animals. And harrass his sister. But you probably already knew that.

I’m going to roast this boy a couple chickens for his dinner. He’ll also have some of Adam’s garlic mashed potatoes and some green bean casserole. We might even make him a cake.

Lord knows he could use the weight.
