Michigan Food Fairs & Festivals

(This information was last updated January 27, 2019)

We are continually working on this schedule of Michigan Food Festivals in an effort to develop the most complete listing of food fairs and events available. To request the addition of a Michigan food festival or fair to this schedule please contact us.

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula State Fair is still going strong in Escanaba, and has been since 1927. However, please note the last lower peninsula Michigan State Fair was held in 2009. There is as of yet no word on when this event will ever return to Michigan. As of 2011 there was a new fair in Michigan, the Great Lakes Agricultural Fair. Intended to be similar to a State Fair, it was held September 2 – 5, 2011 at the Pontiac Silverdome. In 2012, this was relocated to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi as the Great Lakes State Fair, and in 2013 became the Fifth Third Bank Michigan State Fair.

Information on Michigan’s many individual County Fairs is available from the Michigan Department of Agriculture web site. For other Michigan food festival and event information, please see the Michigan Wines and Michigan Festivals & Events Association web sites.

Tasty Morsel Culinary Excursions offers packaged, private and custom guided tours of the Traverse City and Leelanau areas. A listing of some of Michigan’s most popular events, food festivals and otherwise, can be found at Madman Mike’s.
