Two very busy weeks later and we have demolished yet another birthday cake from Rynn. This one was for Adam, who turned 18 this past week making me now the proud father of two adults. He’s mature enough that the afternoon of his birthday he enlisted in the Marine Corps’ delayed entry program, planning on a trip to Parris Island next summer. He’s a good man, and I believe he’ll make a fine Marine.
For his cake he only mentioned the word “chocolate”. Rynn took that single word and created this beautiful cake for this fine young man. The cake itself was rich and moist, and apparently there was a bit of cherry in the whipped topping between the layers. The crumb coat seemed to be dark chocolate with a rich chocolate icing over it. The small chips on the side were semi-sweet chocolate, and the chips around the top and the lettering both being white chocolate. Ice cream? Who needs it! Milk to wash it down worked just fine.
In a couple weeks Aaron turns 21 and Rynn already has his order. Yeah, that one should be interesting. 🙂
