Aaron held this thing up and said, “You should blog about this. Seriously!”
Our 19-year-old probey firefighter had been thrown into fifth gear first thing this morning by someone with a nosebleed. It was nothing like mine was about a year ago but there were still 6 people on-scene for the one this morning. Afterward, Aaron came home and started these eggs. He was about to add the cheese when a snow-related accident set the siren off again, and he flew out the door. When he came back he hollered, “Did I turn the stove off???” I went into the kitchen. He had, but as it’s an electric stove the eggs had continued to cook. They were overcooked and quite cold when I took this photo. The Pomeranian had a nice treat!
He made another batch and had plated them … and the siren went off again for a roll-over accident. The plated eggs, in the pic below, are in the fridge since he’s still not back from that second accident and third call of the morning. Since these eggs hadn’t overcooked in the pan like the previous batch, they’ll be fine for a nuking.
Maybe he’ll have time to eat them before the siren goes off again. People forget how to drive when it snows. 12:30 p.m. and he’s not eaten yet. I’m betting he’s hungry …
Update 1:20 p.m. — Aaron finally ate this omelet. He’s now looking for lunch. But so far this morning there have been 45 accidents in Monroe County and the ambulance company has run out of units to send.
